Regards from King Hezekiah
In those days Hezekiah fell dangerously ill. The prophet Isiah son of Amoz came and said to him… Thus said the Lord, the God of your father David: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. I am going to heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the House of the Lord.
2 KINGS 20:1–6
In the picture: A clay seal impression bearing the name of Hezekiah son of Ahaz, king of Judah, discovered by Dr. Eilat Mazar in her excavations at the Ophel in 2009. The seal impression, which was originally attached to a document that did not survive, bears the symbol of a winged sun, next to which is the sign for life in Egyptian Hieroglyphics. This sign might have been added to the king’s seal because of the serious illness from which he recovered.
