Jerusalem’s Walls are Rebuilt

Earthquakes in the eleventh century damaged Jerusalem’s walls, which at that time included the City of David and the southern part of Mount Zion. The Fatimid rulers of Jerusalem rebuilt the walls around a more limited area, leaving the City of David and the southern part of Mount Zion outside them. This is the line of the walls to this day.
