A Jewish Synagogue?

In the picture: Within a structure discovered by Prof. Benjamin Mazar in the late twentieth century and excavated later by Dr. Eilat Mazar near the southwestern corner of the Temple Mount, several wall paintings were found depicting a seven-branch candelabrum (Menorah). A depression was found in the doorway, possibly for a mezuzah. Dr. Mazar has suggested that the building was used as a Jewish synagogue, however, this theory has its critics.
